Eco Cutlery | Decarbonization of Belo Inox's activity
By implementing this project, Belo Inox aims to drastically reduce the negative environmental impact of its activities.
To this end, it will optimize its production flows, intervening at various levels: from the digital transition of processes (with a view to greater control and digitization of energy processes) to substantial changes in currently updated energy sources (incorporation of photovoltaic solar energy and heat pumps for renewable heat production).
These actions will contribute to the national targets set out in the national plans for the sector (PNEC, RNC, among others), achieving the following objectives:

1 – Reduction in Belo Inox's absolute emissions, amounting to 92.6 tons of CO2/year;
2 – 48.9% reduction in absolute GHG emissions compared to the pre-project year (2019);
3 – 50.9% reduction in energy consumption at the industrial unit undergoing intervention, compared to the pre-project year;
4 – Implementation of innovative and disruptive methodologies, based on mature technologies, combining the concepts of circular economy, digital and energy transition;
5 – Implementation of an environmentally and financially viable project, with an average payback period of 9.48 years;
6 – Incorporation of energy produced from renewable sources through the installation of a 222 kWp solar power plant.
This project will be financed through EU funds, under an application submitted to Component C11 of the Recovery and Resilience Program (PRR).
